  • Taken in 2008:
    • Over 40% of teenagers with internet access reported being bullied online
    • 10% of students who were bullied told their parents
    • 18% of students who were bullied reported the incident to law enforcement
    • Only 15% of parents know about their child's use of social networking sites and the internet

  • Cyberbullying by Proxy
    • The cyberbullying is done by an unknowing accomplice
    • Dangerous because parents and adults can be involved
    • The bully reports the victim as the bully to a parent or social networking site

    • Include the definition, explanation, and punishment for cyberbullying, on and off school grounds
  • "Petition state legislatures to add a cyberbullying component to existing state laws that prohibit traditional bullying"
